Shipping policy
Shipping and delivery
Blood Knot is a small, one-person business in Australia. Our cordage is made to order and is not normally held as ready-made stock.
Making your order
We begin making your cordage after your order has been accepted and payment has been received, unless we have agreed otherwise with you.
Rope making is carried out outdoors and production can be affected by rain, wet conditions, strong wind and other weather. Workload and other commitments can also occasionally affect production time. We will contact you by email if there is likely to be a significant delay with your order.
Postage
Blood Knot uses Australia Post for domestic and international parcels.
Where available, postage is calculated at checkout using our Australia Post MyPost Business connection and the information associated with your order.
Shipping to the United States is currently estimated at checkout using weight-based rates based on Australia Post International Standard pricing. Once your made-to-order cordage has been completed, the parcel is packed and weighed and the actual postage is obtained through MyPost Business.
If the estimated US postage materially exceeds the actual postage required, we may refund the difference. If the actual postage is only modestly higher than the checkout estimate, Blood Knot will normally absorb the difference rather than asking you for additional payment.
Unusually large or heavy US orders may require us to contact you to confirm postage rather than providing a fixed shipping rate at checkout.
Direct orders
If you order from Blood Knot directly by email, telephone or another agreed method, we may provide an estimated goods-and-shipping price before production begins. For some orders we may obtain an individual postage quotation. New customers will normally be asked to pay before made-to-order production begins. Different arrangements may be agreed with established customers.
Tracking
Where tracking is provided by the Australia Post service used for your order, tracking details will be added to your order when the parcel is lodged or fulfilled.
International duties, taxes and charges
International postage does not necessarily include import duties, taxes, customs charges or other landed costs imposed by the destination country. Where these charges apply, their treatment may depend on the destination and the arrangements available for that shipment.
Please contact Blood Knot before ordering if you are unsure about international shipping or landed costs.
Shipping problems
If your parcel appears to be delayed, lost or damaged in transit, please contact us at bloodknotcord@gmail.com and we will work with you and Australia Post to investigate the problem.
